Seekers in the Middle East are open to the truth like never before!

MOHAMMED’S STORY: “I prayed, ‘God, if what I just read in that book is true, do something. Please, do something.’ ”

Mohammad lives in the Middle East and is a follower of the predominant religion of that part of the world. Those who know him would call Mohammad a “thinker.” He’s very educated and enjoys deep, thought-provoking conversations.

One day, Mohammad met Khalid, also from the Middle East. As they began to talk, Mohammad discovered Khalid was a Christian (Khalid is also a Josh McDowell ministry partner.) Despite the differences in their faiths, the two men became fast friends.

For more than two years, Mohammad and Khalid had many conversations about Christianity. But one day, Mohammad said, “You know what, Khalid. I’m touched by Christianity. You’ve explained how Jesus Christ changed your life. And while your story is good, I need something more. I need some logic. Something that makes sense of it all.”

That night, Khalid went home and prayed, God, what can I use to explain the gospel logically? Then Khalid remembered the book, More Than a Carpenter. The next day, he gave a copy to Mohammad.

Some time later, Mohammad came to visit Khalid and said, “I really liked all the logic throughout that book. Logically, I think that Christianity might be the truth. But, I’m stuck. I’m still leaning toward my religion. I don’t know what next steps to take.”

Khalid replied, “Tonight, when you go home, ask God, ‘If what I read in that book is true, show me something.’ ”

The next day, Mohammad came to Khalid and told him what had happened…

“Last night, I was trying to sleep but I could not. Try as I may, I could not. So I left my room and went to the balcony. It was very dark. I did what you told me to do. I prayed, ‘God, if what I just read in that book is true, do something. Please, do something.’ ”

“Christ himself, the one I was reading about in that book, he appeared to me!”

Just as Mohammad prayed this, he saw a person walking toward him. “This can’t be!” he exclaimed. He was confused since his balcony was on the second floor. “I saw a person walking toward me,” Mohammad told Khalid. “And he did like this…” Mohammad held out his hands, palms up in front of Khalid. “I saw that he had holes in his hands!” Through tears, Mohammad said. “Christ himself, the one I was reading about in that book, He appeared to me!”

Right there, Khalid was able to pray with Mohammad as he accepted Christ as his Savior.

Today, Mohammad is walking with the Lord. Every day, he puts his life at risk by sharing the truth about Jesus through books like More Than a Carpenter.

GIVE NOW TO PROVIDE CHRIST-CENTERED BOOKS AND RESOURCES FOR THE MIDDLE EAST

Christ-centered books are in high demand in the Middle East — especially those translated into Arabic.

In much of the Middle East, Christian books are very hard to come by, or when available, they’re very expensive. In many places, they’re even illegal!

But it’s often easier to get books about Jesus into closed countries than it is to distribute Bibles. Bibles raise suspicion. Distributing them can be dangerous — even deadly. But books like More Than a Carpenter attract little attention and can easily be passed from one truth seeker to another.

And we’ve found that each book is shared, on average, with 10 PEOPLE! That means the impact of each book is MULTIPLIED!

On average, each
Christ-centered book you
provide will be shared with
10 people!
