Mrs. Clark’s 7th Grade Bible Class Discusses:

The Cosmic Cop

The Killjoy Myth

“According to this myth, God is a ‘cosmic cop’ standing in the center of the universe punishing people.

“People think that God is some authoritative figure striking people down with lightning if they do wrong. This myth is NOT true.

“Sure, some parts of the Bible do mention God’s authoritative power, but what about the other ¾’s of the Bible that talks about His unfailing love and endless grace.

“Psalms 18:50 mentions how if we accept God’s love, we will never be shaken. Some ‘fun’ is just sin in disguise. Satan will trick you into stealing a car because it is ‘fun.’

When we are living perfectly in heaven, we’ll see who’s having the most fun.”

Elliott, age 13

God loves us more than we can comprehend.

Do we joyfully struggle to understand that love,

or defy it because sin looks more “fun?”
